UAE’s latest initiative enhances tourism and healthcare by uniting health insurance with visa applications, streamlining the process for visitors.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is enhancing travel convenience for tourists with an innovative program introduced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). This groundbreaking project, part of the UAE’s transformative agenda, integrates health insurance with tourist visas, providing visitors with added ease and assurance.
This initiative bolsters both the tourism and healthcare industries in the UAE, reinforcing the nation’s status as a premier travel destination. Efforts are in progress to digitalize the health insurance process for UAE travel visas via an electronic platform, simplifying the pricing structure for all leading insurance providers in the UAE.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director-General of the ICP, highlighted the advantages of the new initiative, stating, “The project allows tourists to obtain health insurance electronically while applying for “Their visas through our services system.” The electronic platform will manage the issuance and pricing of health insurance packages from all major UAE insurance providers. This streamlined process enables tourists to select appropriate health insurance alongside their UAE travel visa when applying online through the ICP app or official website.
This initiative aligns with the ‘We Are the Emirates 2031’ vision, representing qualitative projects that create significant impacts in a short time frame. The integration of health insurance with tourist visas not only simplifies procedures but also enhances the overall travel experience, reflecting the UAE’s commitment to innovation and efficiency.
The UAE is renowned as a top tourist destination, offering a myriad of attractions. In Dubai, visitors can marvel at the iconic Burj Khalifa, explore the lush Miracle Garden, and shop at the expansive Mall of the Emirates. Abu Dhabi boasts thrilling experiences like Ferrari World, the historic Qasr Al Hosn Fortress, and the recently opened SeaWorld Yas Island.
Beyond Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the UAE’s tourism appeal extends to other emirates. Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Al Ain, and Fujairah each offer unique attractions, from cultural landmarks to adventure activities. The UAE’s diverse offerings cater to a wide range of interests, ensuring a memorable experience for every visitor.
With its pristine beaches, vibrant casinos, impressive monuments, and an array of cultural wonders, the UAE continues to captivate tourists from around the world. This new initiative further strengthens the UAE’s position as a leading travel destination by ensuring that visitors’ health and safety are prioritized from the moment they apply for their visas.
